Lazio now seem resigned to losing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer transfer window with AC Milan and Juventus keen, a report claims.
According to this morning’s edition of Il Messaggero (via MilanNews), the game against Cremonese – in which he scored a brace – may have been Milinkovic-Savic’s last match at the Stadio Olimpico for Lazio.
The Serbia international has one year left on his deal and seems ready to try a new adventure and thus will not renew with the Biancoceleste, whose intention is to sell him and then strengthen the team in view of next season’s return to the Champions League.
At least €30m will be needed to sell, with Juventus and Milan at the window. The proceeds of the sale would bring Lazio’s budget to around €80m when factoring in the prize money that UEFA gives for being part of Europe’s top club competition.
The Rome-based paper claims that Davide Frattesi is being eyed as his replacement, though Piotr Zielinski and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are on the list. Lucas Torreira, Samuele Ricci and Nicolo Rovella are in the background.
