Messaggero Veneto: Milan not close to Samardzic agreement – counterparts declined

AC Milan are continuing with their attempts to try and sign Lazar Samardzic from Udinese but there is a large gap between the clubs at present, a report claims.

According to Il Messaggero Veneto (via MilanNews), Samardzic is still of ‘strong interest’ to Milan. At the moment, however, an agreement with Udinese is rather far off because the Rossoneri do not agree with the asking price.

The Friulian club have made it clear that they expect to receive €25m for the 22-year-old creative midfielder, and Milan do not have any intention to include some of the counterparts that the Bianconeri like, such as some of the talents in the youth team at present.

Therefore, things are progressing quite slowly and a breakthrough is not expected any time soon. It could well be that there are no developments on the Samardzic front until later in the window, potentially after some sales in the midfield department.

For the Rossoneri it does seem as though the priority is to sign a more defensive-minded midfielder first and then to evaluate the opportunity to add a player like Samardzic as a potential opportunity towards the end of August, when Udinese’s stance might have softened somewhat.

  1. i dont think samardic is necessary but if we want to get him we need to sell some players like adli and pobega and not buy emerson

  2. Not need/we have higher priorities. I also don’t believe these rumors, since we’re already stretching the budget. If there is some truth, it’s perplexing, because we could really use a DM, so instead of wasting money on an AM, let’s take the money budget for that and get Fofana over the line. We also might still need a striker and a GK. Looks like people at Casa Milan are also playing FM.

  3. Origi problem

    Adli problem

    Saelemaekers could be problem…

Selling those three player, Milan free spaces for 2 arrivals.

  4. I like Samardzic, but I don’t think we need this profile. There are talks of playing Pulisic as n10, and we already have RLC and Reijnders who can play this role. I don’t they are good fit to play in double pivot, which leaves us with Bennacer and Fofana. We need enforcement in number 6 urgently.

    1. I don’t think we still have 57M€. In order to acquire those 3 players, we need to sell 1 or 2 players for a good fee.
So while Ugarte’s idea seems tempting, I don’t think we have enough money for him, even if we sell Adli and Pobega.
