Tuttosport: Messias determined to earn his €5.6m move and prolong his fairytale

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not yet made a decision on the future of Junior Messias and whether or not to sign him permanently, according to a report.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) explains this morning, Milan signed him on deadline day from Crotone on a €2.6m paid loan that includes an option to buy set at €5.6m which is valid for the summer. However, the management have not yet made a decision on the future of Messias, hence why other links are doing the rounds like the Domenico Berardi speculations.

Messias hopes to have a hand in helping Milan in their push for the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia, and he knows that only with great performances between now and the end of the season will he have a chance at being able to stay.

In recent months there has been a lot of talk about the Brazilian’s amazing story from being a delivery driver a few years ago to where he is now, and he hopes to prolong his fairytale.

  1. I don’t think Pioli has gotten the best out of Messias Jnr. He should try him as AM.

In any case, I’ll pick Messias over Diaz, first for financial considerations. Diaz is a big gamble that MAY never pay off. Man City easily let him go and Real Madrid will be glad if Milan pays the agreed some. They were smart enough to include a buy back sum though.

The thing is Madrid has a great coach in Ancelotti who is a great manager of men. Madrid plays 4-3-3 which may be a good excuse for sending Brahim Diaz out on loan. They even sold Odergaard to Arsenal.

But we’ve seen that Diaz does not set the pulse rating as a RW. So, he’s not better than Messias or Saelemaekers, or even Samu Castillejo in that position. He can only play AM and he has not shown that he has the eye to thread a pass or the composure to dictate a game. Physically, he gets bullied off the ball.

So spending the money on Diaz is not advisable.
