MN: Milan 15 points better than last season as Allegri’s changes show

AC Milan have been drastically different since Massimiliano Allegri’s arrival in the summer, and the changes show.

When Allegri was hired, there were certainly questions about how much Milan could improve. After all, the squad was a bit messy, whilst the budget and points total required a lot of work. Yet, the Livorno-born coach has made things work.

Allegri’s inspiration

The mercato certainly left things to be desired, yet the Rossoneri look better than they ever did last year, and the stats show this. As MilanNews recalls, at this point last year, Sergio Conceicao’s team had 15 fewer points in Serie A.

It is, then, an ‘incontrovertible fact’ that the Italian has had the impact that the Diavolo hoped for. After all, he was appointed due to his history of success and experience in the top flight, which the club have been missing.

The team is very much Allegri-inspired and the win against Pisa showed this, even if there were a few elements that were anti-Allegri, such as the equaliser.

Nevertheless, a hard-working team that are focused on their goal with leadership across the pitch is what you come to expect from one of his teams. Defensively, they are more solid, and it all falls back to the team’s mentality, where everyone needs to contribute to results in every phase of play.

  1. It’s a pendulum. Say what you wish about his style, but Allegri gets results. I’m betting, like it always happens, at some point in 2 or 3 seasons, fans and management will not be happy with just results but want a more “expansive play”. whatever the f. that means. They will fire Allegri in favor of some Offensive Guru, we end up with a Fonseca, Amorim coach, our defense starts to suck, we start losing games with scorelines 4:3 , by year 2 of the experiment we are out of the top 4, and the cycle starts again.

  2. AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has been the best thing to happen to us this season. For a couple of seasons, it was honestly uncomfortable watching us play, but since his arrival, that perception has completely changed.
The team now looks more organized, confident, and difficult to beat. Opponents find it harder to break us down, and the results are clearly showing the difference. We also have more points at this stage than in previous seasons, which says a lot about the positive impact he has made.
Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a stronger and more competitive AC Milan.
