CorSport: Milan’s 2022 summer window looks negative – only Thiaw gets a pass

AC Milan’s 2022 summer window has become the subject of a lot of scrutiny as the new additions continue to contribute very little.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about Milan last summer window which has been very disappointing so far in terms of returns. Divock Origi arrived to lend a hand to Olivier Giroud but has never really hit his stride due to injury problems.

However, since he arrived on a free and has scored a couple of goals, it makes Charles De Ketelaere look like the real flop. Milan fans are divided between those who still give him time to blossom and those who think the €35m invested has been wated.

Then there are Aster Vranckx, Yacine Adli and Sergino Dest, three players practically never used except at the beginning of the season and not counted on once the Rossoneri have got into the business end of the season.

The only one of the newcomers that has shown his value is Malick Thiaw. His excellent performances with Milan allowed him to be called up for the first time by the German national team, and in the two legs against Spurs in the Champions League he showed that the €5m paid to Schalke could be a bargain.
