CM: Milan expected to collect €21m ‘treasure’ to put towards summer budget

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to collect a sizeable sum by offloading some players that have been deemed no longer useful to the cause, a report claims.

The target for the summer is simple: is to make the team and the squad more competitive than the current season, but in conjunction with paying attention to the accounts which are improving year on year under Elliott Management.

Calciomercato.com reports how this is a balance that Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini have done well in keeping, especially on the sales front where a potential treasure of around €21m awaits to be able to invest in the summer mercato.

Starting with Leo Duarte, who was loaned to Istanbul Basaksehir for two years. The Turkish club are satisfied with its performance so much that they have already expressed their intention to buy him permanently for a fee of €5.5m.

Then a net capital gain is on the way for Jens Petter Hauge who was bought from Bodo/Glimt for €4.5m and will join Eintracht Frankfurt for around €12m this summer given they are now almost certain to avoid relegation and therefore the option to buy becomes an obligation.

Matteo Pessina is another player to pay attention to because the midfielder is close to reaching 100 appearances with Atalanta which would trigger a €3m payment as a bonus in favour of the Rossoneri.

Regarding Mattia Caldara, it seems unlikely that he will stay at Venezia because in the event of relegation to Serie B, they would not exercise their €4m option to buy. Survival could change things, but they currently sit in the bottom three.

    1. Its far worse as we bought andrea conti for 24 mil + pessina on top of that.
Getting the 3 mil is propably the most positive thing coming out of that deal made by the previous ownership.
