AC Milan are very happy with their decision to sign Olivier Giroud and are ready to reward his performances with a new deal, a report claims.
Milan sealed their passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League in convincing fashion with a commanding 4-0 victory against Red Bull Salzburg last night, and Olivier Giroud was the star of the show as he got two goals and two assists.
Fabrizio Romano writes in his column for CaughtOffside that Milan only ended up spending €1m fee plus €1m add-ons to sign Giroud from Chelsea in July 2021. They initially hoped for a free transfer but the Blues triggered a one-year option they had to avoid him going to a rival for nothing, and then the Frenchman got his dream move.
Giroud has scored 22 goals in 55 appearances with Milan since joining, playing a key role in the Scudetto win last season and constantly emerging as being decisive on the biggest stage.
Not only that, but Romano adds that a new deal for the 36-year-old former Arsenal man will be discussed soon given that his existing contract expires at the end of the season, therefore in June 2023.
That man Giroud world class .yes he is ..
He has so much technical ability ,and great vision as to the positions of the players around him ,and he is much more skilful than he is often given credit for ..
Just watch the man and you will see why he is so difficult to defend against ,,it’s not all about pace ,as he creates the space in his head ..if this man has great players with speed around him ,Olivier will deliver .
I just love this player as he never doubts himself .
Plenty more to come from AC Milan and Olivier Giroud…I just want him to go to the World Cup with France and with his ability and form should do so .
Keep playing Olivier as it will be as sad day for me when you quit the game ,but hey that’s a long way off.

Definitely worth another season or two, he’s still a top striker, but we also need some young talent at CF!
I don’t mind Giroud for one more season.
The guy is still a beast and i hope he can give more experiences and a champion mentality for new young players like CDK, Thiaw, Dest, Vranckx.
