Milan 4-1 Monza: All the highlights as Calabria, Maldini, Colombo and Kalulu net stunners

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan made it two wins from two in their preseason campaign, beating Monza 4-1 at San Siro on Saturday night.

The Rossoneri were once again without a number of key players who are away on international duty, just as they were during Wednesday’s game against Novara.

It would take Milan less than six minutes to gain the lead, and it came thanks to a fantastic strike from Davide Calabria. The full-back, who netted earlier in the week, must have been 25 yards out when he took on a strike, beating Lamanna with a low drive into the far corner.

Antonio Donnarumma made a fantastic save to deny a first time effort from Lepore not long after, but could not prevent Monza levelling as Finotto netted, with the assist coming from former Milan man Gabriel Paletta.

Five minutes before the break, Milan retook the lead. Daniel Maldini found space to run into on the left side of the box, and curled the ball past Lamanna with a gorgeous curling shot in off the far post.

In truth the Rossoneri made hard work of the second half but put the game beyond doubt in the final five minutes as Pierre Kalulu got his first goal for the club with a fantastic low driven first time shot from outside the box.

Then came the pick of the bunch. Lorenzo Colombo came off the bench – along with Brahim Diaz who looked bright in the 20 minutes he got – to curl in a stunning effort from around 20 yards out.
