AC Milan are accelerating their pursuit of Rasmus Hojlund, and inserting an obligation to buy in the deal could be the key.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall, the last time Milan won the league title they had a 39-year-old Dane on the team. They could have another this season if Hojlund arrives, while Luka Modric provides the same experience in years.

Pushing for Hojlund
A loan with a conditional obligation to buy could finally be the formula that satisfies all parties in the Hojlund negotiations. The striker is now clear that he wants to leave United, but he is pushing for a destination that should become permanent, rather than just a year on loan.
After invested €70m + €10m on Hojlund to get him from Atalanta, United have since paid €85m for Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, and €75m for Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, while Cunha arrived for slightly less from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The result? Hojlund was excluded from the squad for the match against Arsenal over the weekend and now seems convinced by the idea of showcasing his talent at San Siro, also aware he could become Milan’s striker in the future.
An agreement could be reached on a loan with an obligation to buy reaching a total of €40m, the figure United is asking for due to budget constraints. This is a fee the Rossoneri can cover: after all, if Hojlund proves valuable on the pitch, he will also be valuable as an investment.
Napoli entered the race after Romelu Lukaku’s injury but this may have prompted Milan to step up their game. The Rossoneri were the first to get on the scene and couldn’t afford to let an overtaking take place. Thus, the sprint that now brings the finish line into view is imminent.
If I was him I would choose Napoli. I hope he does too.

Lukaka injury has changes rhythm of the music…we are now in panic moment to get a striker. That’s y you can’t be certain with any situation. I’m sure if we new this is how it would turn out to be , we wouldn’t have allowed Jovic to go. If we are not sure if this guy, then we should go all out for Vilahovic
