SM: Milan accelerate to sign Liverpool’s Origi – the situation and the salary offered

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are getting ready to make Divock Origi their first summer signing as the parties are one step away from an agreement, a report claims.

According to what we have learned through our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Origi is very close to agreeing a deal to join the Rossoneri ahead of the summer window, because in the last few hours there has been an acceleration that appears to be decisive.

A four-year contract worth around €3.5m net per season is ready for the Belgian forward and in the coming weeks a meeting with his agent is scheduled to definitively close the deal.

According to our sources, Milan’s offer will not exceed €3.5m and the player would like to come but possible competition from other Premier clubs (who may also offer more) are not ruled out. Given it is a free transfer – and if the agent commissions are reasonable – it will close long before the end of the season.

It seems that Stefano Pioli will get his younger but experienced striker, with characteristics that perfectly marry the playing philosophy of the Rossoneri head coach. Origi is only 26 and therefore has a good few years ahead of him to be able to demonstrate his full potential which, until now, has only been seen in glimpses.
