Yet more reports have arrived this morning confirming AC Milan’s desire to extend the contract of Christian Pulisic.
Corriere dello Sport begin a report by proclaiming that ‘the real Christian Pulisic is finally back’. After nine very difficult months, he made use of his first start under Ruben Amorim in the emphatic win over Lecce on Sunday night.

Pulisic was itching to shake off all the negativity he had accumulated during 2026, one of the worst years of his career, both for how last season ended at club level and because of the small contribution he made to his national team during the World Cup.
Milan can now once again count on one of the most important players in the squad, who had taken a long break from scoring. In fact, the beautiful opener netted against Lecce ended a long drought of 266 days – almost nine months without scoring.

The last time the former Chelsea man had celebrated dates back to 28 December 2025, against Verona. From that date onwards there had been only disappointments: several physical issues, games missed and then the disappointing World Cup which brought another injury.
Pulisic had to roll up his sleeves and work with dedication at Milanello so as not to compromise the current season with Amorim. The first part did not go very well because – despite being called up – he didn’t play in the first three games at all.
It was the coaching staff’s choice to preserve the player and launch him at the right time, and the match chosen was the one against Lecce.
Now, the renewal…
In the match against the Apulian side, Pulisic finally broke out of his slumber, celebrating with obvious passions and a release of emotion. What about the future? It will still be coloured red and black, or at least that is the current feeling.
The club are working to extend the player’s contract and there is a positive feeling with the American owners. Gerry Cardinale absolutely does not want to let him leave and in the summer he rejected several offers, one from MLS as well.
Pulisic is tied to the Rossoneri officially until the end of the season, but the club can extend it by one year thanks to a contract clause. Despite this, the management is working to shift the deadline to 2031 and would like to do so by the end of December.

A pay rise would be involved too. Figures close to €5m net per year are being discussed, along with the addition of significant bonuses tied to team and individual objectives. Discussions with Pulisic’s entourage are ongoing and the club’s objective is very clear: to retain him as a key pillar.
Pulisic meanwhile is much more relaxed after his goal against Lecce and will use the break to improve his athletic condition. He’ll have a week of complete rest, then he’ll work with Amorim at Milanello, having been spared by coach Maurizio Pochettino for his national team call-ups.
This is good news, because Pulisic will also be a starter when Milan face Sassuolo away after returning from the break. Now he’s regained his place as an attacking midfielder, Christian doesn’t want to return to the bench.
