There seems to have been a strong acceleration on the striker front on Monday, with Niclas Füllkrug now reportedly very close to signing.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are moving forward with their transfer plans following last week’s meeting at Casa Milan between Massimiliano Allegri, Geoffrey Moncada, Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani, in which the roles to be addressed and the priorities were outlined.
The sporting director has already identified who, barring any surprises, will be the striker signing: Niclas Füllkrug, someone with a very successful past in Germany, and a not very successful present at West Ham.
The German striker hasn’t found the right environment to thrive in London, plays infrequently, and has already asked to change clubs in January.

In recent days, Tare has intensified talks with the international agency Roof, reaching a basic agreement on the terms and duration of Füllkrug’s contract. Milan would cover the €1.5m the German striker is expected to earn until the end of the season under his contract with West Ham.
The former Dortmund man has asked his representatives to put all other options on hold to continue with the Rossoneri. Now the Rossoneri will try to reach an agreement with West Ham, over a loan deal until the end of the season.
According to Peppe Di Stefano, live on Sky (via MilanNews), Milan have ‘practically secured’ Fullkrug in view of January. While waiting to see if and how there will be further opportunities, they will also want to assess his fitness before making a final move.
I want to be proven wrong. But I just don’t see this being a success.
No problem with this If we would have kept Camarda. And bought Vlahovic as our nr 1 striker, with Gimenez sold and Nkunku never bought. How can we spend 70 millions on two strikers Who cant score 10-20 goals per season? Or get one or two young brasilian forwards instead of These guys.

If we also have Leao, Vlahovic, Nkunku, Santi up front, it also makes sense to bring Pulisic in midfield. the box crusher role fits him and Silva. Fofana and RLC can’t play that role (physically strong sure, but they can’t do anything in attack and Fofana is better deeper); Puli also does most damage coming from the depth, taking on a defender and distributing the ball.
11 players for 5 spots is more than normal. 4 attackers, 6 midfielders and Puli, Jack of all trades!
Not sure what you mean – Bernardo Silva doesn’t fit a rigid 352 but Allegri doesnt coach a rigid 352…
for me it would be getting Lucumi in his final year in June. can play anywhere in back 3, great with intercepts and passing rate. just solid in general.

Modric throughout his career has been a midfielder.
Bernardo Silva is more of an attacker than a midfielder. He plays either as a 10 or a right winger. He can’t play in midfield under Allegri because he doesn’t provide anything defensively. It works in a Pep team because with Pep they defend by dominating possession and keeping the ball. Thats not Allegri.
If you wanna lose Pulisic because of injuries put him in the midfield.
Pulisic can not bring what Fofana and RLC bring when it comes to physicality and dirty work. Fofana and RLC job isn’t just to crash the penalty box.

Seems low risk if we can avoid a solid long term commitment. Not sure it’ll solve the problems but it’s a possible short term depth option.

He does not have a “very successful past in Germany”. Spent half of his career in the 2nd division, whilst only once scoring 16 goals in the main.
What an awful transfer that would be. If these type of players are coming it, Tare has to go out.
I’m not especially intrigued by this deal but considering if it is a loan with an option then I can at least better stomach it and who knows he might do well. Either way I expect Milan to make a marquee signing in this department come summer, Vlahovic or Lewandowski I would welcome with open arms.
A 6 months loan is a low risk deal until summer when everything will be more clear regarding our standings.

I rather see Fullkrug coming in to patch for these 6 months than another 30 million gamble. I’ve said many times before, January is not the month you get yourself a high class striker. Expectations to end the season on a high are too much for a newcomer. Rather wait until summer and have him full preseason in new environment.
I agree. I don’t expect much, even though I hope the deal gives us good results. But to spend much on a striker this January will be unwise.
Our next major signings will be in the summer, to strengthen and deepen the squad.

Amen!!! It’s not like clubs are willing to sell 20-goals-per-season strikers for 10-20M€ in January just because Fruitlani comes knocking on the their door.

As a box player hold up player, he can not be worse than Gimenez, must at least be stronger. Dortmund fans loved Füllkrug, but then again Feyenoord fans loved Gimenez…So maybe not saying too much

It is important we all look at Max style of game, most goals Milan has scored this season are due to individual plays and not a particular style of football. If Milan get halaand he also will suffer just like gimenez.
Let Max introduce/ develop a style that the most important thing.

Wrong. With the exception of the game against inter, we’ve had more chances than the opposition. With a decent striker, we’d be a few points clear at the top of the table. I don’t think Fullkrig is the solution, but a striker is needed.
