CorSport: Milan big admirers of Netherlands star but €75m price tag could end pursuit

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are one of many teams that would like to sign Dutch forward Cody Gakpo but the expensive price tag could put the Rossoneri off, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), the Rossoneri would love to add the PSV Eindhoven player to their ranks, but it may not be on the cards.

After a very impressive World Cup in Qatar with the Netherlands, it seems likely that Gakpo’s price has now risen to around €75 million, which would almost certainly price Milan out of the equation compared to other interested clubs.

One of the teams that are working hard to sign Gakpo is Newcastle United, who will be able to meet almost any price tag since being brought by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.

Manchester United are also in need of a striker and they are financially stronger than Milan. It is likely that a sale of Rafael Leao would need to take place for Milan to raise the money.

  1. OVERFVCKINPRICE

Sure he played quite well in World Cup but outside that he’s not worth that much.

Now i seriously hate these EPL clubs who ruining the market with their brainless offers 🙁

  2. Obviously it’s just a rumour.
Besides that Jerry Cardinale is too busy building his PR with Hollywood stars and NBA teams….

    1. Cardinale is busy making Milan financials better and healthier but Thomas here thinks Cardinale shouldn’t do his job as Milan owner.

      Yeah okay Thomas lol.

  3. sell leao and buy Doku, Mudryk and Ounahi or Auora the French AM , this will fix Milan”s trident position, problem solved, three very good players are better than one.
