AC Milan seem to be moving closer towards the signing of Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It is no secret that Milan are in desperate need of at least another couple of midfielders after Tijjani Reijnders was sold to Manchester City. Xhaka is among the names that has been linked most consistently, with recent reports suggesting that the player has said yes to the move.

Milan push for Xhaka
Indeed, the Rossoneri are accelerating to close the deal to sign Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri have already initiated official contact with the German club, while the agreement with the midfielder seems to have already been found.
“Milan have had official contact with Leverkusen, but they already have an agreement with the player. Next week could be the decisive moment,” he said on his YouTube channel (via MilanNews).
The club’s plan is to bring in the Swiss captain in addition to the almost certain arrival of Luka Modric to add experience to a department that often struggled to find balance last season.
Xhaka, 32, would bring leadership and physicality to the midfield, characteristics much appreciated by Massimiliano Allegri and the Rossoneri management. On paper, he would play the regista role.
Can’t ever go wrong with more bite in the midfield we’re all sick of the ballerina boys we have (Loftus is the most feminine 6’4 midfielder out there) . We still need a golden boy midfielder to grow under Modric and Xhaka if we do get them.
I hope this won’t come back to bite us so hard.

This is Allegri’s big idea, add old players to the team. Typical Italian mentality. This is why the national team is garbage. It’s not because there’s a lack of talent, it’s because for 25+ years, coaches would rather spend money on Eurotrash then give players from academies a chance.

FIGC should learn from Germany. They are totally chaos after winning euro 96. They always call up sammer / Moeller at 35 on his age. After 2000, they created some regulation that 3-4 players from their academy must be played in every league matches. The rest is you can see bro..
