Reported AC Milan and Leicester target Wesley Fofana has been left out of Saint-Etienne’s matchday squad, fuelling rumours of a potential exit.
The 19-year-old Saint-Étienne centre-back had a fine season in France, attracting the interest of various European clubs, with Milan included in the running. Media outlets both in France and Italy have linked the player with the Rossoneri for some time now.
The young defender spoke in an interview recently and expressed an evident preference of playing for Leicester, or in the Premier League in general, but journalist Marco Ramiccia insisted there is no deal in place.
According to Telefoot Chaine journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Wesley Fofana will watch Saint-Etienne’s game against Nantes on Sunday from the stands as he has not been called up to the squad.
This obviously fuels rumours that an exit is on the cards for the teenager, perhaps an indication that they do not want to risk an injury or that the player is pushing for a move.
