Fode Ballo-Toure has spent a lot of the past few seasons in the shadows. Now, with AC Milan struggling to find a suitor, the club have agreed to mutually part ways.
Very few left-backs in football could get a place ahead of Theo Hernandez, and for Fode Ballo-Toure this was very much clear. However, the club deemed him also not to be a fit deputy, so he was sent on loan to Fulham last season.
In the 2023/24 season, the defender played just six times in the Premier League for the London outfit meaning there was even less of a chance that he returned to the mix for Milan in the 2024/25 season.
As a result, the club spent time looking for a move in the summer and struggled to find any suitors that matched the valuation. It seemed like a move to France was on the cards in the latter stages of the mercato, however, this fell through during personal terms.
A lifeline opportunity was offered with the Futuro side, but he failed to impress which further clarified which direction his future was heading, and now, he is looking for a new club without the Rossoneri’s help, with Milan parting ways with the player via mutual agreement.
The decision was confirmed on the Diavolo’s website this afternoon and the short statement reads as follows.
“AC Milan announces the mutual resolution of defender Fode Ballo-Toure’s contract. The Club wishes the player all the best for his career going forward.”
It means that the club will save heavily on the wages of a player who was not offering anything, which can only be seen as a positive with a revolution planned in January.
This is how bad this management is. It took them a year and a half to get rid of this guy.
I know but it almost makes up for the Juventus debacle
It’s not like they are offloading Kaka, man. This dude was literally like a viral infection… No antibiotic could cure that. Had to cut it off.
Finally 😁
They will pay him sacking.
But that dude is one of many idiots.
My mutual consent means that the club pays the remaining salary ? Or just part of it ? Is there any financial gain compared to just keeping him till the end of his contract ?
I think it means the contract is terminated and Milan doesn’t pay him anything (thus the mutual consent).
I wish we could get rid of Origi too. That’s tougher as Origi obviously is content with making lots of money without working and won’t agree with anything.
Doesn’t make sense. Otherwise he would have terminated it sooner. Milan had to pay him the balance of his contract or he’d stay and continue milking it.
This. For sure Milan has paid him something.
Most likely just lower fee than we would have to pay…
He got benched in Serie C, he also needed this exit to prepare for the summer
It should show me up in the financials for next year
Yes they are amateurs, but do you know who buy him and Origi?? Another amateurs… first step to be a big club we need to employ better managers.. Zlatan is not great, but needed. Players follow him and he needs just experience… he can be useful in future (like Maldini was)
There’ll be a lot of negative comments about him, but for me Ballo-Toure was signed, he worked hard, tried his best for Milan and never said anything negative about the club or the fans. I wish him the best of luck in future and hope he finds his feet at a decent level.
Still a better player than Emerson Royal
