TMW: Milan remain in race for Atalanta star but value continues to rise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are among the many admirers of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund but his asking price is continuing to rise, a report claims.

TMW report that Hojlund was a €17m investment by Atalanta last summer and he is going some way to repaying that already with 7 goals scored in 2023 alone, and now he is impressing for the Danish national team too at the age of 20.

The former Sturm Graz man has already attracted the attention of the top clubs given the season that he is having, with Napoli moving in advance in the event that they are forced to replace  Osimhen.

Milan are also keen as they look for a centre-forward for the future given the age of Olivier Giroud, while in the Premier League Arsenal and Newcastle United are keen, and they might just find it easier to pay the €40-45m that is currently being requested by La Dea.

    1. Boniface is not that clinical, it’s a power player, Hojlund is far better 👍, that money will bring something to the team, whichh we will see the impact, this boy is very young and very familiar with the league. Also make sure you buy a proper attacking midfielder who have eyes for assist than scoring, kocku(turkey), Wirtz(Leverkusen) it’s better you spend the money once that spending it twice, if you get this they are very young and for the next 4 seasons your starting eleven is guaranteed at the that department. Player is expensive

  1. Kvara, Enzo, Kolo Muani and Hojlund combined cost this summer just a little bit more than what Milan paid for CDK.
Keep that in mind when you wanna blame the owner for not providing Maldini with unlimited amount of money to spend.

      1. You missed the whole point of the comment,
but imagine if you are actually getting paid to have a foresight and be able to project what a player can turn into

        1. How about Kalulu, Theo and Maignan? Heck, Leao costed us similar to CDK and he was rubbish during his first two years. Some people even wanted to sell him and let Hauge be the first choice.

Hindsight is 20/20. Of course there’ll be some deals where it worked out and some where it doesn’t. Kvara became superstar overnight at Napoli, might not be the case if he had joined us. Who knows, he’d be getting Adli treatment, or got injured all the time. We’d never know.

        2. You missed the whole point of what hindsight means. Of course some cheaper players are going to play well after the fact. It’s ridiculous to compare. What you fail to list are all the other players those clubs bought that DIDN’T turn out so well. Chelsea bought Enzo for alot of money but are still 10th, they also bought Madueke, gusto, murdyk and still none of these are exactly lighting it up are they? Where are those on your list? And we all know if Enzo was in this Milan team and got skinned like that vs Adeyemi he would be dropped fatser than you can pronounce Vranckx. Muani same thing, Eintracht also got the beloved Hauge, Alario,Jakic to name a few,.all cheap and less than CDK How are they performing? Not lighting it up. Point you never know who can blow up and who dont

  2. Not gonna lie, to go back to being serious title contenders, Milan need to splash a figure around 80-100m (after sales of course), this season teams have levelled up, Napoli, Juve, Lazio, Roma… And Inter is showing Milan how things will be next season if they don’t take charge of the next summer transfer window. To be honest, Milan definitely wouldn’t have been going to the champions league next season if Juve weren’t docked 15 points (and they are still catching up!!). The squad needs a revamp moreso the attacking department. Doesn’t matter how many goals Milan leaks, I wouldn’t mind if I conceded 4 goals as long as I scored 5 or 6 in that same game. In my opinion, defense only needs a backup LB and a rediscovered Tomori, in midfield maybe one or two good CMs or a CDM(after departure of deadwood of course). The attack is what needs a lot of work. Clear out everyone except for giroud who can act as a decent backup. Messias’s numbers also suggests he can be kept as a backup RW

    1. Milan overhypes Tomori too much he is off and On like a car battery, and he only makes use of speed and power without technicality, Kjaer is more clinical and experienced, thiaw is not a good player as a starter, check most of the goals Milan conceded that really don’t know how to position at the centre back he is very sluggish and soft, only Good at area balls, and long passes. List of how reliable Milan defence his, Kalulu, Kjaer, Gabbia, tomori and Thiaw. If I’m to sell I will sell the last two, please check how will conceded and where the error always come from….. I just hope Milan knows this on time. Tomori is my brother but he need to go or bench. Nobody ever came for him.

  3. This kid is special bring him in at all costs. The resemblance to haaland is crazy. Hearing news of Morata. A big no thank you. Hojlund should be number one priority and if retegui keeps showing promising signs he can be an alternative

    1. God bless you… A player like Diaz should go… He played as the attacking midfielder but he has never gave 5 assists in a season for us, but people keep saying he’s the best in that position, I bet you I will prefer krunic33, Toneli ahead of him, I can bet you they will deliver more than Diaz, Diaz can be shifted to right midfield… Some who those not know where Iis power kick legs his either left or right. He knows how to move on the counter-attack but always ends up wasted cos of selfishness and indecision.
