CM: Milan learn figures needed to complete Asensio deal but face Arsenal competition

AC Milan have made Marco Asensio their main target to reinforce the attack ahead of next season but it will not be an easy pursuit, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, the 26-year-old is tempted by the possibility of leaving Real Madrid one year from his contract expiry and the Rossoneri management have sensed ‘a great opportunity to raise the level of the squad’ by signing them.

The first discussions took place through the Spaniard’s intermediary and agent, and during that it became apparent that Asensio would welcome a move to Milan. Talks must be held with Real Madrid to understand their intentions, but the feeling is that an offer of €25-30m would make them sell.

Milan and Real Madrid have excellent relations and will talk again in a few weeks, but Asensio’s request is €7m net per season salary which would be a raise on the €5m he currently earns. It is a figure considered too high by the Rossoneri board but there is room for opening a negotiation, but Arsenal are also in the running.
