Sky: Milan ‘asked’ PSG for out of favour striker in January – the details and competition

AC Milan only have two first-team strikers currently and with Francesco Camarda still finding his feet, another addition to the front line could be on the cards.

The striker situation at Milan has been questionable for some time. In the summer, the Rossoneri initially wanted a younger striker to build around but ended the window with Alvaro Morata (32 years old) and Tammy Abraham (27 years old).

Whilst this was done with the idea of promoting Camarda – or assisting with this – many complained that it was a poor decision. With Morata struggling to hit the numbers that Olivier Giroud did, and Abraham struggling to do this as well, we find ourselves in a difficult situation.

As a result, the Diavolo could resort to making another addition in the January mercato, in an attempt to further reduce the pressure on the young striker, whilst also sharing the workload between Abraham and Morata – both of whom have had injury issues since joining.

This afternoon, Sky reported that Randal Kolo Muani could be an idea on the table, and apparently, Milan have already asked the French giants for a loan deal in January. Whilst the Parisien outfit are on board with this idea, they would not pay any of his salary for the rest of the season – €4 million – which could be offputting despite the previous interest.

Juventus and some Premier League clubs are also keeping an eye on the proceedings.

  1. I’d take him on loan, just to see if he can recover his Bundesliga form, especially if Jovic likely to leave.

If he does well maybe we sign long term, if not we send him and Abraham packing in summer and look at other targets. Remember Camarda is arguably only a couple years away from potentially being our starting no.9

  2. Why dont we sell Tomori to Premier League for 25? Pay 25+Jovic for Ricci and we are set at MF. Or if Torino won’t sell, give Tomori+RLC in exchange for Tonali. Then pay Lille 5m for David, who is leaving for free in summer. This way we get an in form CF and avoid an aution in summer? Bennacer and Zeroli/Vos can be backups for Fofana/Ricci (Tonali).

    1. There is no such thing as “Milan DNA”.
And twin St is worse than 3 attackers (st lw rw) when attacking..
I mean 3 is always more than 2…. it’s primal math. Can’t get more basic than that.

      1. It’s not like the wingers are ever inside the box, now is it? 2 strikers is 10000x better option than 3 attackers where one (Morata) is building our attack in the halfway-line and the the two others avoid the penalty box like a plague.

        1. Even if we played the classic 4-4-2 with the same wingers they’d still perform exactly the same as now. But the main difference would be that there would actually be a threat inside the box when the ball comes in.

        2. It’s not like there are any balls going in the box anyway..

A balanced 433 is the best formation ever. For modern football anyway.

Nobody uses 442 or 4312 nowadays and for good reason.

End of the day is not even about formation because during game it’s all fluid and ever changing, it’s about a quality coach who knows what he wants to do and players do it. Our coach is subpar. Players are so so.

Another thing, morata was doing exactly what he’s doing at Milan for Spain and Spain looked very good. At least 2 me. Morata isn’t the issue in our game.
