AC Milan held a meeting with the agents of Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz who could be an alternative to Renato Sanches, a report claims.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are continuing their work at Casa Milan despite the fact they have not yet signed their renewals and yesterday they had a meeting with the agents of Douglas Luiz.
He could become a serious option in the event that Renato Sanches does not arrive. Even though the Portuguese midfielder remains the first choice to replace Kessie, Milan are being forced to probe other tracks given the competition from PSG.
Douglas Luiz has only one year left on his contract with Aston Villa and this could favour his departure this summer, with the Premier League side expected to sell the 24-year-old Brazilian for around €20m.
Luiz was brought to Europe in the summer of 2017 by Manchester City having played in the youth sector of Vasco da Gama in his home country. He spent two years on loan at Girona in Spain and then moved to Villa, with whom he had 111 appearances and has scored 5 goals.
