From Spain: Milan eyeing Atletico Madrid midfielder amid fears Kessie is destined to leave

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a concrete interest in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Hector Herrara, according to a report from Spain.

El Gol Digital writes that Herrera ‘could wear AC Milan’s shirt from January next year’ as the Rossoneri are keen on landing him. The Mexican is already packing his suitcases and is ready to leave Atlético, with his most likely destination being Serie A at the moment.

The report adds that Milan ‘have a sustainable economic situation’ and ‘could cover the signing of Herrera without any problem’. At the moment the an asking price of €7m has been set but given six months will be lefton his contract in January, his price would drop.

As for the player, he is more seduced by the idea of trying in the Italian league rather than moving to another LaLiga side. Interestingly, they mention that the Milan management suspect that Franck Kessié will leave on a free transfer, so this is a move to try and cover for a potential exit.

  1. We don’t need another mid… go for a striker or RW. We have Tonali, Bennacer, Bakayoko, Adli, and Krunic… why do we need more for just 2 positions?? We don’t.

    1. We have Tonali,Adli,Bennacer,Bakayoko,Krunic and Pobega so we dont need Herrera or any other midfielder we need one striker like Valhovic or Scamacca and a rigth winger that can rotate with Salemakers,Messias and Florenzi dont give that goal threat as Salemakers doesnt but is starting to show up more and another important playmaker as we are most likely lose Brahim after the end of next season because if he keeps on performing like he is right now we can buy him but must likely Real Madrid is going to use the buy back clause the put in the loan contract!

      1. 100% agreed. We should not waste any money on fhe midfield anymore. Vlahovic or Scamacca for next year, also Belotti will be a feee transfer this next summer so that’s an option. We need another RW who can score goals too and rotate with Saelemaekers, possibly Berardi.

  2. IF we are going to sign a mid to replace Kessie it should be Kamara on a free. This kid is amazing and would be a steal on a free. Colliso on a free is solid as well. Rest of our limited $$ should be spent on a RW (Faivre) and a Striker (dream is Valhovic) and a CB (if Romagnoli leaves which is very likely)…I think Adli will ultimately play further up the pitch to spell Diaz or eventually take over for him when Real buys him back (which unfortunately is inevitable).

  3. We should keep mixing experience and youth. Who knows if he turns out to be another Kjaer for us? Considering we’re signing him for almost free.
Season is long, and we need depth.
Another good point is that he worked with Simeone which is popular with his style of defensive football.
