AC Milan want a new midfielder in the last few days of the window, and a new idea has emerged, per reports today.
Ismael Bennacer’s situation is very difficult. The Algerian costs Milan around €9 million per season, and Massimiliano Allegri sees no use for him in the squad. Unfortunately, he cannot be demoted to the Futuro side either.

So, the Rossoneri are left with an expensive anchor, one that they ‘need’ to get rid of this summer. However, it is proving to be a difficult task so far, largely due to his wages providing a hurdle, as well as the fee being sought.
Bennacer for Fabbian?
Nevertheless, a new idea could provide a way out for the midfielder. Bologna are the latest party to become interested in the Algerian, and the Diavolo have an interest of their own, Giovanni Fabbian.
So, Daniele Longo reports that the midfielder has been offered to the Rossoblu, in exchange for Fabbian, on ‘equal terms’. However, it is acknowledged that this is a difficult situation to sort out, given his high salary.
Bologna deem his €4 million wage too high, and they will not agree to a deal unless it is lowered. In other words, another difficult problem to solve.
Just pay part of his salary and get him out. But don’t take this guy. It is Bondo signing all over again. He won’t play 2 games for Milan.
Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place…
Yeah. I don’t get this interest. Could have kept Pobega and Bondo if we needed midfielders that aren’t good enough to start for Milan.
If it was for registration, we could have kept Pobega then.
Bennacer is injury prone, it’s not like other clubs are unaware. Someone will probably get him for a small amount of money to avoid any gambles, it’s basically the most we get out of this situation. It’s not much different with Adli. He doesn’t have pshysical problems, but he didn’t participate in the summer preparation, so he is not exactly valuable resource.
I don’t understand. Fabbian is mid-table level and a bench option at Bologna. He is Inter’s version of Pobega. Who is the smart one at Milan who wants to spend money on him?

Why not just keep Bennacer at this point? Especially if Jashari is going to be out for a long period and we are selling Musah. Yes, Bennacer is injury prone but when he is healthy he is better than most of the midfielders we have. I would take Bennacer over Fofana, RLC and Ricci when healthy. As long as we are not depending on him to start many games I don’t see him as a bad option to have on the team.
How did we get here with Benny. Benny was top player. Very unfortunate
