Romano: Milan ‘will try again’ to extend Kessie’s contract and January sale is unlikely

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not yet done in trying to convince Franck Kessie to renew his contract while a January sale seems unlikely, according to Fabrizio Romano.

There is a two-fold hysteria around Kessie currently, the first of which is related to his future as the Ivorian has just a few months left on his contract which expires in June 2022 and he appears to be far away from renewing, and the second is because his level of performances have not been close to as consistent as last season suggesting his mind may be elsewhere.

According to what Romano said on his Here We Go podcast (via TransferZone), Milan ‘will try again’ to extend Kessie’s contract in the coming weeks or months. He is unlikely to leave in the January window though, and ‘could be a great opportunity for many clubs’ if he does leave the Rossoneri as a free agent in the summer.
