AC Milan have been linked with a late move for Adrien Rabiot, who is expected to leave Marseille before the window closes.

There has been some drama at Marseille in the past few days, as both Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe has been temporarily excluded from the team. The two were involved in an altercation after Roberto De Zerbi’s side lost 1-0 in their season opener to Stade Rennais on Friday night.

According to the latest from RMC Sport, the duo’s time at Marseille could well be over. The pair have been left out of the squad and will not train, so there is speculation about an exit for both of them.

Milan enquire about Marseille midfielder

According to what is being reported by Orazio Accomando of SportMediaset and DAZN, Milan are ‘exploring the possibility’ of signing Rabiot, who is ‘a favourite of Allegri’.

It will be a difficult operation, but an inquiry has been made and there could be developments in the final part of this hectic summer transfer window for the Rossoneri.

As a reminder, Milan were heavily linked with the former Juventus man back in June, before things stalled because of the obstacles in the negotiations. Now, an opportunity may have arisen.

    1. In the heat of the battle when and if we are closing in on the scudetto the likes of Modric and Rabiot could make the world of difference, do not be so short sighted to miss this opportunity, we should put our entire faith in Tare and Allegri

  1. Why in the good flucks sake would we song ANOTHER MIDFIELDER, an ageing one as well? We have Adli and Bennacer rotting away and they are a surplus to squad requirements. Ricci and Jashari will see their minutes reduced? This sounds terrible in every sense of the word. Hope it is false speculation. There is a quality centerback, right back and striker, possibly left winger missing in the squad.

Id be giving Berardi a serious look at this very moment. He, although not ideal as a striker can still score and will make us better on the flanks.

We need a dependable, reliable and solid central defender, I’d say the same for a starting right back as well. Issue is, the season sarted and it is late to be making new additions so teams will be reluctant or even unconvincible to sell anyone worth their weight in salt, let alone gold.

  2. Milan already have similar profile midfielders and they have enough midfielders, but if one of them leaves, a straight swap with Bennacer would be a good deal.

  3. Pls do not forget Milan are in negotiations to sell both Fofana and Musah.

So going for Raboit is simply to ensure there is replacements before the 2 midfeilders are sold.

    1. Trade a more talented mid who cannot stay fit for a less talented prima donna that is always fit but slowing a bit.

Hedge potential Musah and Fofana sales.

      Keep Serie A experience level.

Toss in Adli as make-weight and the romance of him returning to France.

The only downside here is Rabiot’s Mama Bear … Erm … Mother-agent.

  4. Rabiot would expect to start. Who sits? Ricci or Jashari (whom I expect will take over from Fofana once he is up to speed). I see a Rabiot arrival as more problematic than positive, particularly in light of our reduced match-load this season. Just offload Adli and Bennacer, and keep the rest as is.

    1. Yes please sign him quick. And don’t forget to sign Berardi and Immobile /Benzema, they’re still F good players.

  5. How many midfielders do we need? We have other needs. Unless we are going to play with 7 midfielders on the pitch…

  6. Has has a lot of quality. But doesn’t have the attitude to match it. I’d pass on this one. We have enough midfielders. We have to focus on the attack and perhaps bringing in Kiwior for defense.

  7. People who are asking why rabiot , first he will be in competition with loftus and I was thinking of players for this position since I saw last game.we need a strong powerful midfielder in attack put not in the shape of an ordinary play maker. I see him perfect and so needed. Also we need a striker and a false striker (Chiesa )if we sold chikweazy.plus a defender and a left side defender. 5 players to be so complete

    1. I think this is what’s going to happen. Unless Fofana rejects the Saudi deal, both Musah and Fofana (and likely Bennacer) will be gone.

Why do some folks on these message boards hate Bennacer so much?
