Milan avoid suspensions but Napoli will be without key duo in return leg

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan managed to avoid any suspensions for the second leg against Napoli, but the latter will be without two of their key players next week. The Rossoneri, as such, remain confident of advancing to the semis.

Sandro Tonali, Fikayo Tomori, Rade Krunic and Fode Ballo-Toure were all at risk of getting suspended for the second leg this evening. However, the first three (who played) managed to avoid getting carded, even if Krunic came close on a few occasions.

Napoli, on the other hand, didn’t have as much luck as Zambo Anguissa was sent off and thus will miss the return leg. Kim Min Jae will also miss out as he received a yellow card after complaining about one of the referee’s decisions.

It remains to be seen if Victor Osimhen will be back in time for the Partenopei. In any case, the situation is far from ideal for Luciano Spalletti, especially since they are already behind 1-0 on aggregate.

  1. Good job.

Napoli looked dangerous and in another day could emerge victorious with 3 goals.

Too bad we can’t get additional goals when against 10 players. At least Napoli won’t be able to play their best defender, dynamic midfielder, and potentially with Osimhen not fully fit.

    1. I think that as much as Napoli were fluid, we were equally dangerous and if they pulled a save from Maigan, we had the bar rescue them from Kjaer’s goal, the keeper was out of the equation, and so I would equally say, we may not be as fluid but were certainly dangerous, and beat them twice in a row. Form, they say, fluctuates, but class is permanent. Forza Milan.

    1. If you play. to tie you will lose. Best defense would be to have the ball more than them and make them defend as well. They have to take chance so we should press, smartly, and capitalize.

    2. Parking a bus is suicide when you have Kvara and Osimhen duo against you. And Napoli has a very weakened defense line. We should exploit and score as many goals as possible. Everything else will be done by Maignan.

      1. Yep, no way we should play with that horrible 5 man defense again. I want to see Leao, Giroud and Brahim terrorizing a Kim-less Napoli defense the way they know how.

  2. Napoli still far better then we after red card, huge luck yesterday also thanks to the ref.
If I had bet on a semifinal Inter Napoli(Milan) in UCL i would now be done with work 😉

  3. Guys, have you noticed the decline in Tomori’s game play and confidence? It’s so sad. Tomori, finds it difficult to play out with his team from the defence. Each time he has the ball, he faces backwards, and plays either back to the keeper or to the nearest CB (Simon). He even finds it difficult playing to his LB (Theo). The only time he did, it caused serious trouble for Milan, thanks to Mike (GK). You can rewatch Milan vs Napoli match of yesterday.
