There is some concern about Youssouf Fofana’s condition after he limped off during the second half of AC Milan’s win over Verona.
After sprinting after the ball down the left wing alongside Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, Fofana touched his thigh, collapsing to the ground and asking to be substituted. In his place, the Rossoneri coach brought on Samuele Ricci, who finished the match in the midfield trio.

Once he left the pitch, according to Dario Mastroianni – the match commentator for DAZN (via Radio Rossonera) – the coach asked the midfielder if it was just cramp. The French player grimaced in disappointment, suggesting that the injury could be more serious than expected.
Fofana’s words
We will likely learn a bit more about how the former Monaco man is feeling early in the week, when the team return to Milanello to begin preparing for the massive game against Juventus at the weekend.
In the meantime, Fofana spoke to DAZN after the final whistle at the Stadio Bentegodi to give an update on his condition and to reflect on a big three points. He suggested it is nothing to worrying about, replying: “Yes, it’s just cramp. I’m fine.”
Given that Fofana was reinstated into the team for the game having been dropped versus Udinese, it would certainly be a big blow if he were to miss a chunk of the decisive part of the season.
