AC Milan have put forward their bid to Leon Goretzka and they are now waiting for a response from the midfielder.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Milan are awaiting Goretzka’s reply ‘with confidence’. The Rossoneri made their move well in advance a few weeks ago, submitting a verbal offer which was a three-year deal worth €5m net per season including bonuses.

This is an attempt to move ahead of the competition and secure an international-level player, one who could give the midfield more experience ahead of what will hopefully be a return to the Champions League.

A crucial condition

Playing in Europe will be critical for the club, both as an additional opportunity to convince Goretzka to join Milan, but also for financial reasons. The Milan management is maintaining close contact with the German’s entourage and doesn’t want to miss this opportunity.

It won’t be easy, as numerous clubs are poised to make a bid for Goretzka. In Italy, Juventus, Inter and Napoli are interested. Clubs in England and Spain are also interested, so the choice will be up to the player.

According to what is filtering, the midfielder’s decision should come in a couple of weeks, once the Champions League qualifiers are more clear. The 31-year-old is a name Allegri is very keen on, in fact it was the coach himself who reportedly put his name forward.

Goretzka is therefore a signing he would like for the upcoming transfer window, and listening to the coach could be key amid the Azzurri speculation. The Rossoneri manager would like an ambitious summer, to fight for trophies from 2026-27.

  1. If by any miracle Alegri stays, I hope he brings up the names of players he wants for him to carry a trophy.

I will put it here for future purpose, Alegri doesn’t have a workable system, getting players won’t solve the system issue, but let’s see what his preferred players would help him achieve.

    1. The word is “coach”. Not couch. The problem isn’t Allegri. And you still don’t get it sitting on that couch.
