Tonight’s game against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico is pretty much a do-or-die game for AC Milan in their quest to win the Scudetto.
Calciomercato.com write how after Inter beat Roma last night at San Siro for their fourth consecutive win, the Rossoneri simply must respond tonight. The Nerazzurri are the favourites to win the league now and if they beat Bologna on Wednesday night (presuming Milan beat Lazio) then they would be outright top.
The game in the capital tonight also serves to show whether Stefano Pioli’s side are in a good psychological shape after the cup derby defeat. It will not be an easy game because their hosts are fighting to finish as high as possible and they have plenty of quality in their squad.
Milan will not have Ismael Bennacer, but they have got Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic back. The hope is that the excellent away form will continue, given Pioli’s side have won 11 out of 16 away matches this season, as pressure must be put back on the city rivals.
