Milan defender Ballo-Toure after Empoli win: “I cried after the goal”

AC Milan defender Fode Ballo Toure has said that he cried when he scored the goal that helped the Rossoneri beat Empoli 3-1 on Saturday evening. 

Speaking to Sky Sport after the match (via Milan News), the young Frenchman talked about the game in which he scored his first ever senior goal in his career which proved to be the winner.

He admitted that he started to cry after he scored the goal, saying: “I’m very happy, it’s my first goal. I cried after the goal. In training I work work work work and today… golazo! Pioli told me to tell you that he is the best coach in the world. I dedicate the goal to my mother.”

He exclaimed that he is happy that the team won, saying in another interview with DAZN (via Milan News): “I am very happy, it is a special moment. I am happy for the team and for the victory.”

The defender was stepping in for his first start of the season as Theo Hernandez is out injured and he ended up making it 2-1 to Milan in the 94th minute, immediately after Nedim Bajrami had scored a free-kick at the other end to equalise for the hosts at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

Speaking of the head coach Stefano Pioli and technical director Paolo Maldini after the game, Ballo-Toure said: “Pioli is the best coach. Maldini was very happy.”

Rafael Leao got the third goal with the last kick of the game.
