GdS: Milan targeting star Hellas Verona duo – defender and €25m playmaker in their sights

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have their eyes on two players from Hellas Verona but neither of them will be available until the summer, according to a report.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are interested in signing two Hellas Verona players, the first of whom is Nicolò Casale who is also admired by Lazio. The Rossoneri’s pursuit of a new centre-back has been widely reported and they might be forced to replace Alessio Romagnoli in the summer if he leaves on a free transfer, so the 23-year-old Casale remains in the viewfinder.

The second Gialloblu player that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara like is Antonin Barak, the Czech attacking midfielder who has a valuation of €25m. Both, however, will not move in the January window.

Given that Brahim Diaz is struggling for form and there is no natural replacement in the squad, it could be that Milan focus on Barak strongly in the summer to add another playmaker to their ranks.

  1. What I can’t understand is how Milan is not looking for attacking midfielder this winter when Diaz is out of form and there is no player in the squad to replace him.
