Reports: Milan and Bayern among ‘the biggest interest’ in 18-year-old MLS sensation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the sides interested in signing centre-forward Ricardo Pepi from FC Dallas, according to reports.

An exclusive from 90min reports that Pepi is the current subject of interest from clubs Italy, Germany and England ahead of what could be a record-breaking transfer for an MLS player. He would be the latest to leave Texas for Europe after Weston McKennie, Chris Richards, Reggie Cannon and Bryan Reynolds.

Pepi is just 18 years of age but has 12 goals in 24 MLS appearances despite FC Dallas struggling, and he has already received his first call-up for the United States Men’s National Team. On his debut he amassed a goal and two assists to help the USMNT come from behind to beat Honduras 4-1 earlier in September.

The report adds that two of the three Italian clubs are in this season’s Champions League, as are both German clubs. The account MLS Transfers adds that ‘the biggest interest is coming from Bologna, Bayern and AC Milan’.
