CM: Milan among the teams ‘crazy’ about Benfica star Darwin Nunez – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the teams who are still interested in signing Darwin Nunez as he continues to explode with Benfica, a report claims.

Nunez’s goal eliminated Ajax from the Champions League, bringing his total to 26 goals in 33 games this season, and at 22 years old he is heading for summer as a protagonist on the transfer market.

Calciomercato.com reports how in January it was West Ham who tried to bring him to the Premier League with an offer worth €48m on deadline day, but they decided not to sell, so now Atletico Madrid are following him and Newcastle are ready to put in a big offer, with several teams ‘crazy’ about him.

A few months ago the player’s agents also met Milan as the Rossoneri are looking to find their centre-forward of the future, while Napoli have been keen for some time but they invested heavily on Victor Osimhen. Wherever the future of Nunez lays, Benfica stand to make a huge amount from his sale.

  1. I knew it, I fckin knew it, as soon as he scored yesterday I was sure someone made a note to write something about how Milan are crazy for him…one sniff at the amount he commands and management hightailed it outta there. This was last summer so stop, just stop it.

  2. With the way the transfer business is going, the best Milan will get from the transfer market are scraps from the table if they are not ready to invest real good.

They’d be lucky if those scraps turn out to be world class or at least top players in the local league.

Otherwise, the strategy remains to buy cheap players and then hope and pray that the gamble pays off
