Ismael Bennacer is looking forward to another season as a protagonist with AC Milan, and in the meantime the issue of his renewal persists.
Calciomercato.com recall how ‘new’ arrival Yacine Adli revealed in his first interview with Milan TV that he is looking forward to playing alongside Bennacer, a player that he believes is making a name for himself.
“I know him very well. We have the same agent in common. I think he is a very good player and one of the best midfielders at the moment. What he does is truly extraordinary and I’m sure he can do even more, showing everyone that he can make a name for himself. in the world of football,” he said.
Milan are working to renew Bennacer’s current contract which is expiring in 2024. With the farewell of Franck Kessie and the arrival of Adli plus Tommaso Pobega’s return from loan, the feeling is that Bennacer completes the department with his skill set.
He formed a complementary pairing with Sandro Tonali and is considered a resource that Milan want to protect. Bennacer earns about €1.7m net per season currently and is asking for €3.5m to sign an extension. Maldini and Massara have every intention of helping him grow further, and removing his €50m release clause too.
At the moment the parties are not at an agreement, but the idea is still to continue in the same direction.
3.5M is a bargain for Bennacer. Sign him to an extension asap.
He deserves more. The only team currently who has a better defensive midfield than Milan is RM and Liverpool.
Teams all around the world are searching for a player like bennacer and players like that are HARD to find.

Why is everyone so obsessed with Bennacer’s 50 mil release clause? If someone offers that much now or in the future Milan should take the money and run. He has never been worth nowhere near that number & based on his physical stature & position he plays most likely he’ll never be worth 50 mil. He has been at Milan for 3 years and still hasn’t cemented starting position. His best stretch of good performances came after the covid break in 2020. In the last 2 seasons he has regressed as a player.
Some are also upset that fans put Renato Sanches in their mock starting line ups for next season over Benacer.
If Renato Sanches comes in he will not be benching Bennacer, he’ll come in to fill the open starting role left by Kessie. Bennacer was bench player the last 2 seasons.
I like Bennacer but he is nowhere near as good as Renato & he has been almost as absent because of health and fitness issues just like Renato Sanches .
Just my opinion, I think Bennacer is on a completely another level than Sanches. I think with time, it will only further strengthen this thought.

Milan need to pony up. The price is good. The season is long with champions league and World cup this year. The teams that survive this year have depth and stay healthy. Also when players compete for their spot they tend to play harder for for spot.
I dont think he will renew. From the start he is tough about salary , probably he will end free transfer too. But lets just hope that wont happen. He is good regista
