Tuttosport: Milan have €4m bid for Nigerian midfielder rejected

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have had their opening offer of €4 million rejected by FC Midtjylland for Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today (via Milan News), the Rossoneri have launched an assault for the midfielder but they will need to make a new offer to secure his services.

The first offer was made and was for €4 million but it is believed that the Danish side want at least double that figure.

The 21-year-old midfielder seems to be the player that technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara have settled on to bring depth to that part of the squad.

The fact that FC Midtjylland were knocked out of the Champions League qualifying rounds has strengthened Milan’s bargaining position slightly as the Danish side will not be getting the large amount of money that comes from the group stages.

Milan are expected to continue trying to sign him.

    1. Why are you always saying we’re short again? Maybe 6-8 millionis overvalued. If he was that big a talent at the price of 6-8 million then a lot of teams would already have picked him up at that price. Currently no other team judges him to be worth over 4 million and we have the highest bid, so oerhaps 4 million is the correct price. If you really believe that much in this player, why don’t you add the missing 2 million? It’s just 2, can’t be that difficult

      1. It’s “difficult” Because our owners, sad to say, are cheap (based on market standards) and only provided us with a limited budget. It’s approx 40M. You said in your previous post it was plenty of $$. Well I guess it’s not lol. Yes this player is overvalued at 8M and the correct price is likely 4M. BUT – the player is under contract for another 4 seasons and the club apparently isn’t desperate to sell – And they know we are lacking options after missing out on Sanches and its late in the transfer window and we don’t have much $$ – SO they have all the leverage. Just like Brugge did with CDK. So they can hold out until they get the offer they want or they will hold him for another season hope he continues to develop and sell him for even higher price next summer. It’s not difficult at all, pretty simple actually.

  1. Always going for the cheapest option. Why waste our time all the while talking about Sanches, as if they had the means to do the deal. Hope they remember that we have the champions league to compete in
