MN: Milan given big Bartesaghi boost ahead of derby vs. Inter – the latest

We are getting towards the final part of preparations ahead of the derby between AC Milan and Inter, and some good news has arrived.

Against Cremonese, Bartesaghi succumbed to an injury at the late stages of the game, without receiving any contact. He pulled up after seeing a cross deflected behind for a corner that eventually brought the winning goal.

As he walked around the pitch clutching the back of his thigh, many feared a strain or even a tear that could keep the Italian out for weeks, putting the decisive part of the season in jeopardy. Thankfully, a serious injury was then ruled out.

However, as MilanNews report, a very positive update has arrived on Friday from Milanello, where Milan trained in the morning and continued their preparations for Sunday evening’s game.

Bartesaghi has recovered from the flexor injury he suffered a few days ago in Cremona and trained regularly with the rest of the Rossoneri squad today, having trained individually in the past couple of days.

Unless there are any further setbacks, the left-back will be included in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for the match against Inter. The coach will then decide whether to start him or start Pervis Estupinan on the left flank.

    1. He should be placed outside the box when defending corners. Or protecting the far post. He shouldn’t be man-marking anyone.

      1. Wasn’t he protecting the far post when a Parma player flew over him? He doesn’t need to be prevented from defending. The other way around. He needs to be in the thick of it and simply learn to better challenge for aerial balls. It’s how he’s going to get to the next level.

        1. If he needs to be marking someone from Inter, it should be Barella. That crybaby simply cannot beat him in headers. Right? 🤷‍♂️🙄

    2. He needs to grow and learn and be allowed to make mistakes. But he has to learn from them. His biggest one that hasn’t been fixed yet is that he is unaware of what’s going on behind his back, like with Celik getting a PK off him and Bonazoli’s chot on goal VS Cremone. he defended with his back on both occasions and failed.

That’s positional awareness and it will come with time but someone needs to be there to direct him.

  1. This is not a big boost. When is the last time Bartesaghi played well? It’s been a while. ANd he has conceded a bunch of goals.
