Report claims Milan want Borussia Mönchengladbach stalwart to replace Kjaer

The summer transfer window only closed a few days ago but the management will already be planning future moves to improve Stefano Pioli’s squad.

According to what is being reported by PianetaMilan, the Milan leadership are big admirers of Juan Miranda. The Real Betis full-back – who came through the Barcelona youth sector – has a deal expiring next year and thus could become the new deputy to Theo Hernandez.

However, they launch a new name as well. There will be a need for another central defender given that Simon Kjær’s contract runs out and in all likelihood will not be renewed given his age and declining physical reliability.

In his place, Nico Elvedi could arrive on a free transfer too. The Swiss international has been at Borussia Mönchengladbach since 2015 having left FC Zurich and at the moment he is heading towards trying a new challenge, which could be in Italy.

The 26-year-old has made 271 appearances for Mönchengladbach across all competitions with 14 goals and 9 assists. He has also played 47 times for his country, and is a compatriot of Noah Okafor.
