MN: Botman-Bremer duel reignites after January – Milan get the approval of both

The transfer market always provides fluid and ever-changing scenarios, and it seems AC Milan’s pursuit of a new centre-back falls into that category.

According to MilanNews, it seems the favoured and potentially the only option that Milan were considering was Sven Botman of Lille but Newcastle United have once again emerged as a competitor in the race for the Dutchman just as they did back in January.

Botman – as evidenced by a recent video in which he smiles as soon as Milan were mentioned – much prefers the idea of joining the Rossoneri and playing in the Champions League. He has even agreed terms over a five-year deal, but Newcastle’s insistence and a higher offer compared to Milan’s €30m leaves things open.

Milan are therefore looking at alternatives and Torino’s Gleison Bremer is on the list, just as he was in the winter. Inter and Tottenham are also keen on the Brazilian, who was voted the best defender of the 2021-22 Serie A season, while the player would approve of the idea of joining Milan and will leave for €25m.
