CM: Milan want to sign a quality centre-back ASAP – talks resume over Bremer and Botman

AC Milan know that they must act quickly and decisively to bring a quality defender to the squad given the centre-back emergency, with Bremer and Sven Botman reportedly targeted.

It was confirmed earlier today that Fikayo Tomori will need a minor surgery on his knee to clean up a meniscal problem he sustained during the Coppa Italia win over Genoa last night meaning he will be out for at least a month, and given that Simon Kjaer’s season is over a defensive signing is desperately needed.

Calciomercato.com reports that there are two names highlighted on the wish list: Sven Botman of Lille and Bremer of Torino. Milan have apparently made the choice to sign a ready-made and high-level centre-back, also because they are not convinced by any of the players offered on loan so far.

Talks with Torino are underway as part of the Pietro Pellegri affair, which might end up netting Milan some kind of preferential lane, and with Lille the situation is more complex, but Milan intend to make a new attempt to bring Botman to Italy immediately. Both are difficult pursuit, but the Rossoneri are willing to try.
