CM: Two possible sales and three targets – Milan braced for changes at centre-back

AC Milan are expected to make changes in almost every area of the squad this summer, and that also applies to the centre-back department.

As Calciomercato.com report, Fikayo Tomori seems to be at the bottom of Sergio Conceicao’s hierarchies at present having not played a single minute in the past five games. When asked specifically about the limited use of the English centre-back, Conceicao was diplomatic.

“It depends on the cycles, on the form. I have four central defenders in whom I have great faith,” he said in his press conference. Tomori’s cycle at Milan essentially ended in January when the club had put him on the market, and a full agreement with Spurs was very close.

There were two reasons behind Tomori saying no: the first was that of not wanting to betray the club of his life, Chelsea, in addition to the strenuous belief that he could return to being a protagonist at Milan.

Fikayo is very attached to the Rossoneri but now this belief is fading and in the summer a goodbye seems most likely. Milan put him on the market but not at a clearance price: they want €25m to sell him, having paid €28m.

Matteo Gabbia and Stranija Pavlovic are certain to remain next season. Malick Thiaw ‘s position is less stable: Bayer Leverkusen are after the German centre-back in addition to other English clubs, so he could be sold.

For the incoming market, Geoffrey Moncada’s list includes Cristhian Mosquera at Valencia, Diego Coppola at Verona and Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea among others, but everything will depend on the evaluation of the new sporting director.

  1. Thiaw 30+ million and I think can go. He had good season and he is only one who upgrade his play of players who are longer than 2 season in the club.

Fik should go. He dropped in bottom. Even Gabbia is better solution than him.

    1. Selling Thiaw would be a dumb decision. He’s solid in the air and good at progressing the ball and 1on 1 defending.

Tomori and Gabbia should go. These 2 are not good enough and I don’t see them improving.

  3. I knew Milan would lose to Napoli. The coach continues to make wrong choices. Fofana is a minus. The players are sluggish, very unbusiness like. Their marksmanship is poor. They have no ball winners. It’s time to sack this coach

  4. Pavlovic and Gabbia? Hahaha, two of the most useless defenders in the history of football. Neither one couldn’t pass to a player 10 feet away from them.

  5. What a shambles of a coach; what a shambles of a defence; what a shambles of a team; what a shambles of match tactics; what a shambles of a game system; what a shambles of a management; what a shambles of an owner.
Just go to he.. all of you for making us hate the moment we started to like milan.
