Tijjani Reijnders will be the big player to keep hold of this summer for AC Milan with Manchester City registering their interest.
It seems that the Reijnders to City story will only continue to grow from this point, and despite the fact that he signed a new deal recently, there is a fear already of his departure. However, it is no shock. This season, the midfielder has established himself as one of the best out there, and Pep Guardiola is infatuated.

Calciomercato.com report this afternoon that Pep Guardiola has the Dutchman as his ‘primary objective’ in midfield and the Spaniard has been tracking obsessively him for around six months at this point.
There are no concrete offers on the table just yet, however, the Manchester outfit have taken into account the Rossoneri’s preparation for the Coppa Italia and want to operate respectfully. In the report, it is suggested that City are ‘inclined’ to invest in him, even if it will cost more than €70 million – which would be a record fee.
It is unlikely that Reijnders will ask to leave it seems, however, with no players deemed ‘unsellable’ by the club. However, if the figures get lucrative, it would be a challenge to turn them down.
Tbh, it would need to be 100 mil. It would certainly need to be much higher than what we sold Tonali for, as the market has grown since then and Tiji has scored so many goals this season. Midfield is still a huge issue for us though, selling him might set us back even further and we can’t risk not making top 4 next season. Agreeing to sell him before a new SD and coach come in would be a huge mistake, even if the offer were 100 mil.
Imagine trying to recruit a top manager while selling your best player? Not exactly an enticing prospect. I would like to see the team add a competent SD and give Sergio another season in the bench. Keep your best players and move the deadwood on.
80M will do it. Not that many players in his role go for 100M. Players commanding those fees are usually full on forwards, not box-to-box midfielders. I’m not saying we shouldn’t ask for 100M, but I think the agreement will be made at 80. Brace yourselves, because they drumbeat is growing.
Same Man City paid $60m for Nico Gonzalez from Porto. Arsenal paid 100m for Declan. Tijj for 70m is a joke!!!

It’s been said before, but if you want to compete for trophies you have to keep hold of your best players. If Milan sell, it’s another case of penny wise is dollar foolish. You want accounts in the black? Win! Win! Win!
If they spend it well on a midfield for players like Ricci, Rovella, Frendrup, Bernabe, Prati etc. Players who can play either pivot or dm, will actually contribute in defensive phase and are not limited with their vision, I’m all for it. It’s not like Milan have ambitions to win anything significant in coming years so that’s that.
Helluva big IF though… Can you honestly imagine Moncada buying those guys? In best case scenario he’d buy ONE of them (the cheapest, obviously) but that wouldn’t improve our squad one bit.
If we do sell him I’m hoping that will fund Frendrup and Ricci.
Sell and sign Hjulmand + Frendrup.
Hjulmand is only for sale this summer if his release clause is met and that is set at 80mil euros so It wont happen. Sporting is expecting to part ways with gyokeres this summer so they wont willingly sell their captain as well.
iNteR rejected offers for Barella and we should do the same — sell off some deadwood instead and make smarter investments. Plus we have cash coming in from loans and (finally) from CDK. We need some consistency in midfield…
I believe the cdk transfer money came in January at least that was what was in the cards last summer so unless it was actually pushed further backwards then I assume that cash was spent to partially facilitate the Gimenez deal.

De Bruynes contract is expiring this summer so its not necessary to get him as a bonus and I highly doubt we would even be able to entertain his salary demands.
Reijnders is worth 80 mln. With that money Gerry can buy 4 players for 20 mln each.

It’s sad to see that there is some people here who are cool with selling Reijnders, thinking the money coming in for him will be invested in the team. With this management, they probably will find a couple of 15-20 mill players and hope they will develop, then sell for profit again. Ironically, when they sold Tonali, who of all players came in for those money did actually well? Reijnders

I definitely think he should be kept but the reality we live in is that AC Milans management probably wouldn’t refuse an offer of 75-80 mil for Reijnders. In fact all players are probably up for grabs in their eyes but yeah I also suspect if he is sold then we will downgrade and invest on cheap up an coming players instead and then maybe in a few years we will go through the same exercise.
Would rather keep him but if the Arabs are willing to dig deep into their pockets then the Yanks will take the bait.
