AC Milan will take on Cagliari in the Coppa Italia Round of 16, as confirmed by the Sardinian side’s win against Udinese last night. A potential semi-final derby is also on the cards for the Rossoneri.
Cagliari managed to beat Udinese by two goals to one after extra-time last night, sealing their spot in the Coppa Italia Round of 16. They will face Milan next (at San Siro) and the last clash between the two ended 3-1 in favour of the Rossoneri. Below is the tournament bracket in full.
As you can see in the image above, Milan could face Inter in the semi-finals but that’s probably something that they want to avoid. In the quarter-finals, meanwhile, Stefano Pioli’s men will be up against Atalanta or Sassuolo/Spezia in case they make it through.
The game against Cagliari will take place on January 2nd or 3rd, meaning it will be the first game after the Christmas break. In the meantime, the Rossoneri will have to focus on the league and reaching the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
