This weekend, AC Milan face Cagliari in a game that means little for the visitors. For the hosts, though, it means almost everything.
As things stand, Milan are in a position where they wish to stay. Indeed, if the season ended now, they would be back in the Champions League and after a few difficult weeks, they could finally breathe once again.

Of course, the win this weekend eased pressures, but the job isn’t done yet. Thinking it is done would likely provide a significant fallout. If they are to guarantee qualification into Europe this weekend, then they must get three points.
€100m on the line
As Corriere dello Sport writes, it is a game worth at least €100 million to the Rossoneri. Winning would qualify them into the Champions League, which is worth a significant financial prize by itself. However, it would also secure safety for a few stars.
Failing – and that is what it would be – to reach Europe would see them lose Massimiliano Allegri, as well as a few ‘high profile’ names. Indeed, it would be another summer of sacrifice to accept the blow of another Europe-less season.
So, one final push is needed for several reasons, mostly to secure their own financial safety.
