Tuttosport: Castillejo stuck at Milan until the summer as Valencia opt for Spurs winger

It is likely to be a quiet deadline day for AC Milan not just from the point of view of signings but also potential sales too, with Samu Castillejo now reportedly set to stay.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Castillejo will remain with the Rossoneri until the summer unless there are some real surprises before today’s 19:00 CET deadline, because the deal that was in the pipeline with Valencia has collapsed.

The Spanish club were interested in the 27-year-old winger, but in the end they decided to focus on signing Tottenham’s Bryan Gil, who became available because the London club decided to go for Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

Castillejo therefore is destined to remain at Milanello at least until the end of the season which will be frustrating for the management given that he is not a part of Stefano Pioli’s plans, and in the summer he will be one year from contract expiry.
