MN: Milan closely monitoring Chelsea’s Broja – why they believe he could be ideal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the clubs who are interested in signing striker Armando Broja from Chelsea, according to a report, as they are attracted by his characteristics.

MilanNews begin a report about Broja by describing him as a modern striker who combines a powerful physique with good technique on the ball. He is 1.91m tall but he really likes to attack the space in behind, with good movement inside the box like an instinctive centre-forward.

His work in the non-possession phase is also very positive, given because he contributes in the pressing phase, but he is only 21 years of age and therefore has room to improve in various areas which makes his potential even more attractive.

Last summer the Albania international was targeted by several clubs, including West Ham United, Real Madrid, Napoli and Newcastle. The team that came closest to signing him were the Hammers for a figure close to £30m, but the deal did not go through in the end.

At the end of the summer mercato Broja renewed with Chelsea until 2028, despite the choice of the Blues to sign former Milan man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as Broja is convinced that he can fight for a spot.

At the moment things are not going as he had imagined, with only six appearances across the Premier League and Champions League and zero goals, for a total of just 124 minutes of play. The arrival of the new coach Graham Potter could change things, but if not then Broja might be tempted to leave.

The report adds that Milan are following him very closely at the moment, even if there has not been any kind of official contact for now, with an asking price of around €30m set. This valuation falls within the economic range in which the Rossoneri can operate and the profile is held in high esteem.

  1. €30m for a player that has years contact with Chelsea? This is hilarious.
Italian League like them cheap but it won’t work this time.

  2. Before all these money talks: is he really good?
I know a striker is not all about goals, but his goalscoring record isn’t convincing.

    1. “I know a striker is not all about goals, but his goalscoring record isn’t convincing.”

So who’s gonna score the goals in Milan if not the striker? Saelemaekers? Bennacer? Tonali? Milan clearly needs a striker who can score 20-30 goals per season as the rest will not offer much help.

  3. This is definitely a player to keep an eye on. It will be interesting to see how he develops and whether he ends up staying at Chelsea or not.

  4. Broja’s finishing isn’t just poor.. It’s outright Pathetic. And we want him as our scorer? Just a big No. Doesn’t matter how good his off the ball movement is, if a striker cant score, he is useless.

What we need right now, is to get Asensio for RW first on free or Pulisic if we can agree a deal with Chelsea. RW needs to be reinforced ASAP as ST search needs to continue on a scout level to find raw hidden gems due to lack of available strikers. No big name is available and the names circulating right now, Broja, Okafor, Davis aren’t just good enough as scorers. No need to waste money on dead-average players. If bad comes to worse, we can use CDK/Rebic up front and use Giroud in big matches.
