AC Milan are looking for a centre-back to cover for the absence of Simon Kjaer, with a signing expected in January. The Dane will be out for the rest of the season and the Rossoneri are thus forced to act.
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are focusing on younger profiles for the role. The wish list includes Jhon Lucumi (23 years, Genk), Malang Sarr (22, Chelsea), Benoit Badiashile (20, Monaco) and Becir Omeragic (19, Zurich).
Last January, Milan signed Fikayo Tomori on a six-month loan from Chelsea and perhaps they will try their luck again, but this time with Sarr. Either way, it’s becoming pretty clear that the Rossoneri will bring in a centre-back next month.
Kjaer’s absence is a huge blow for the club, without a doubt, as he has been one of the certainties in the starting XI in the last two seasons. But if a replacement can be brought in, that will certainly help things.
