Repubblica: Milan listed among candidates to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have once again been mentioned as one of the clubs in the running to sign midfielder Jorginho from Chelsea, according to a report.

According to La Repubblica (via GIFN) it is Juventus director Federico Cherubini who is leading the charge to try and sign Jorginho, with Max Allegri said to be very keen on the signing of the ex-Napoli man.

However, there is a lot of competition to land him because PSG, Barcelona and Milan are mentioned by the newspaper as potential candidates for his signature, with his agent Joao Santos having opened up to the idea of a return to Serie A for his client.

The salary demand for the 30-year-old is a potential problem because he wants €7m net per season from his next club, which would surely be too high for the Rossoneri. Joao Santos recently confirmed that talks had been held with Milan, as well as other sides throughout Europe.

  1. Cmon. Surely not. Whatever you think of him as a player (personally I think 3rd in Ballon D’or is overrated) we can’t be offering long term high salaries to 30 year old DMs, with little resale value.

Hard no from me, I prefer Tonali to him anyway!

  2. Very much agree with you. I do like Jorginho; but we do not need him or that salary. He is very solid; but a bit overrated. on Chelsea, I think N’golo Kante and Kovacic do more than he does in that midfield position. He did have a great Euro tournament for Italy though… but anyway, not what we need to spend our money on.
