Milan initiate cleaning in San Francesco area amid drug-dealing problems

AC Milan have initiated the cleaning process in the San Francesco area, with fences to be put up around their land as well, and the project is thus advancing fast. Next week, as several reports claim, the Program Agreement will also commence.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Milan have purchased additional land in the San Francesco area, where they will be able to host more parking spaces. As a result, the project now has a total surface area of approximately 660,000m².

As reported by Il Cittadino and MilanNews today, Milan have initiated the process of cleaning up the San Francesco area, which is currently in a state of degradation. Local authorities are also involved in this as fences will also be put up to ensure the safety of the area.

It might sound dramatic, but the area has been a go-to spot for many drug dealers and addicts in the last few years and Milan want to get rid of this. In addition to the cleaning process, another positive update is that the Program Agreement will be launched by the San Donato council next week.

The council already has the letter for the Lombardy region ready, with Milan taking great steps forward. Although the Program Agreement will take some time (around 18 months), seeing as it involves a lot of different institutions, Milan fans should still be very happy about this.
