Milan handed clear indication as Camarda breaks 175-day goal drought

Francesco Camarda broke his goal drought with Milan Futuro earlier today as he scored the opener against Pescara. For the Rossoneri management, it was a clear indication of what to do for the remainder of the season.

Camarda has jumped between the Futuro side and the first team this season, making just nine appearances in Serie C as a result. In fact, apart from a few games here and there, he hasn’t been part of the Futuro consistently since September.

Even today, as was confirmed by Daniele Bonera, his presence for the game was only confirmed late last night. He did get a few minutes for the first team against Torino but was deemed in good enough condition to help the Futuro side as well.

He needed just six minutes to open the scoring, bringing the ball down with a great back-heel before finding the back of the net with a composed finish. He thus ended a 175-day goal drought in Serie C and showed how important he can be for the team.

For the Milan management, it was a rather clear indication that Camarda should remain with the Futuro between now and the end of the season. He isn’t getting enough minutes with the first team and that certainly isn’t aiding his development, while the Futuro side really need him in the relegation battle.

  1. I dont understand why we keep forcing him into the first squad this season instead of keeping him at futuro. Especially when Abraham and Gimenez/Morata were healthy.
It benefits noone. The first team is not getting anything out of him. He lacks stability and rythm. Meanwhile we buy 30+ yr old strikers for “futuro” because the project is drowning.

    1. Well we also added some players above 23 because to my knowledge teams need to have some players above that age to field a team in the league.

  2. He’s caught in no man’s land. I think the Futuro and unnecessary first team calls up might be hindering his growth. Like I said before, I would have chosen Dortmund
