This afternoon, a report has stated that AC Milan are close to an agreement with Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund.
A proposed deal for Hojlund has come around really quickly. Milan have gone from being in a position of considering him to making a move in less than a week, and it is a telltale sign of how the mercato can really ramp up.

Of course, making a move and having one accepted is different. But, even then, things have moved quickly, it seems.
Hojlund heating up
According to Luca Bianchin (via MilanMatters) this afternoon, the Rossoneri are ‘close’ to an agreement with United for Hojlund’s loan move. The idea is that the club would pay €4 million for the loan upfront, and then €40m through a buy option inserted in the contract.
However, there is an issue that must be ironed out. As Bianchin adds, the Dane has not given the deal an ‘OK’ just yet. Instead, he would prefer to stay in Manchester and compete for a place.
Matteo Moretto, a mercato expert, also confirms this information, as MilanMatters relays.
“Rasmus Højlund is still insisting on staying at Manchester United and compete for a starting spot. AC Milan are evaluating a loan deal for Højlund: €5-6M loan + €35-45M option-to-buy.”
It will be intriguing to see how this plays out. However, given how well the Diavolo have sold the project this summer, it may not be a major roadblock.

It would probably be the same stance towards all clubs as he is already playing for his favorite club as he has been an utd. fan since childhood.
Most Scandinavians are MUFC and Liverpool plans, they have been watching the English league for at least the last 4 decades.
But as it has been reported Milan might go for both Dusan and Rasmus.

Yeah as a Dane I can confirm this and in my hometown its basically those two teams people holds in high regard maybe with a few supporting Chelsea or Real Madrid. I had a huge laugh when we recently met Liverpool as I frequented a full Liverpool bar and was the only one who supported Milan of all the guests and showed up in Milan shirt. Had a blast messing with them 😀

If we can only have one of them I hope this is a ruse to expedite the Dusan signing, I think Rasmus is good but he is not a finisher, we have an array of ball carriers in our first 11 but we need a stone cold finisher, which Rasmus is not
I think either could work and even if Højlund hasn’t scored impressive amounts of goals he is still young so still see him becoming more effective. He was also cl top scorer in 2023/24 season until utd. didn’t qualify for the next round amssing 5 or 6 goals so clearly he has it in him in my view.

Yeah as I’ve already mentioned the kid is a utd fan and has been so long before joining them so it makes perfectly sense that a club fan would rather stay and fight for his chances than looking for new pastures. Probably not he wisest choice as he will have fierce competition and that is only looking at the established players but they also have a Danish super talent in Chido Obi who probably will be their 3rd choice. My guess is that Højlund will risk his spot in the national team if doesn’t move on.

I do not expect every player we put our eyes on is a Milan fan. If there is no love at first sight we should not pursue. Having said that there were players who fell in love with Milan after joining the team and see with their own eyes what this club means with the history of successes it had.

I other news, apparently Newcastle are intensifying interest in thiaw and are prepared for another offer of 40m. Anything close to that or more I find it hard turning it down.
Hojlund is no where near as good as Giminez in my opinion, guy has no ball control whatsoever and Giminez scored more goals than Hojlund last season while having 3x less gametime than him and less games started . ( 7 started for Gimenez & 23 for Hojlund). Even if Man utd were horror last season aswell they still managed to reach a europa leauge final. SO we cant blame the team he was in either

I believe that Gimenez will do well this year as he had more time to settle down and get accustomed to the playing style of each team mate. Also I trust Alegri that he will use the player’s strengths to build confindence in him.

I’d the loan fee was 6m and the buy 30m I’d believe this was possible and likely.
With a buy of 45m I just don’t see it. Too much money unless Tarlegri see something in the film I didn’t see watching the games that says he will break out.
€45m opens a few more doors to work a deal for the winter for someone more established. Schick comes to mind as does Kolo Muani from the names in play this summer.
That Hojlund wants to stay and fight is admirable and I think it reflects well on him rather than poorly on us.

It’s an option, not an obligation. We know very well that if we wanted to continue with him they’ll just try to negotiate a lower price next summer. Think of it like Leao’s release clause – the value in the option means very little, but it does give a ceiling for what we’d have to pay if he turned out to be the best striker in Serie A.

Pulisic and others? Hojlund is still a young and solid player. He’s 22. Deserves a chance elsewhere. United is a sinking ship. It isn’t his fault. And his goal scoring was still decent for being at a sinking ship.
He was never anything special, I watched him at Atalanta. Same with Nicholas Jackson and even Nunez, portuguese league strikers have been failing for the past five years

Sesko already agreed with united. United already have 3 new strikers, mbuemo, Cunha + sesko with 200m ++ price combined. Displace hojlund, no room for him at united. So I think hojlund will go to Milan with loan + option to buy or he will bench warmer forever.
