Tuttosport: Milan closely monitoring Porto striker with 14 goal contributions this season

By Oliver Fisher -

A new name has emerged as a potential attacking target for AC Milan today as Evanilson of Porto is reportedly being monitored closely.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Milan are exploring the idea of making a concrete move for Evanilson – full name Francisco Evanilson de Lima Barbosa – in the summer of 2023.

The 23-year-old came through the academy at Fluminese but joined Porto in the summer of 2020. He has 8 goals and 6 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions this season, averaging a goal every 129 minutes in the league.

He cost Porto €9m and it is an investment that certainly looks to have paid off, given he netted 21 goals with Sérgio Conceição’s side in the previous campaign and netted his first goal in the Champions League against Club Brugge this season.

Milan will have the chance to watch Evanilson first hand in February and March of the new year when Porto face Inter in the round of 16 of the Champions League, and that might go some way to deciding if he is the No.9 of the future.
